HH, Canon 5D IV Canon 500mm f4 L IS II
Auto ISO 2500, 1/4000 sec f6.3
ACR + PSCC
Thanks to everyone for commenting on my previous post. This was day was the only one of two that I can ever recall when I had light and the owls at close distance. I used the 5D IV as opposed to 1DX, I must admit the AF performance isn't so very different. The camera seemed to grab a hold on focus and just lose it despite focus bumping, the main issue was the background in most cases having a similar tonal range to the subject. The gamble paid off I got a decent sized file, I won't hesitate to use the 5D in good light, - lower light levels I will stay with the 1DX - better ISO performance - significantly less noise.
