SUN, FINALLY!!!!! We had our first entirely cloudless day of 2019 yesterday! I was hella stoked to find some cooperative subjects.....

Is the bird too close to the right hand side of the frame? Technically, yes. Do I care? No. I think the face and water are strong enough to overcome it.
Ugh. Just realized I could probably clean up the streak from the eyeshine in the full image.

Also, just for fun, I've given you a headshot extracted from same frame.

Canon 600mm f/4 IS II + 1.4x III on EOS 1DX Mark II
1/2500 at f/5.6, ISO 400, handheld
Processed in LR CC. Removed a handful of tiny irregularities on the water, but it really was that buttery smooth from my face down position!

Cheers!

Very nice image... Not too close to the right at all. Ducks are long and low enough that
cropping is tough anyway, yours looks fine.
You have a lot of nice details, iso400 I only dream about....

Pretty shot Dorian. Love the calm water and the colors. Nice details on the bird. Still do not have a proper shot of a female Ring-necked so this one makes me envious. Crop shows signs of degrading but really held up pretty well.

Excellent light and details, I like the full body shot better I'd clone out the highlights in the reflection and might go a bit warmer on colors

Beautiful light, exquisite detail. Nice pose. Maybe just a sliver too close on the right for me, but not to worry about. Lovely image.

Both look very nice. The low angle light and pose make this one.

Love the colors and Head Angle.

Beautiful capture.

Was this photographed with Kayak ?

Nope! I was on the concrete edge of an urban park pond!
