I captured this one a while ago on the island of Lunga on Scotlands west coast. This was before the young birds hatched, so no bill full of fish pix. I thought try something different from the usual Puffin portrait.

Even at f16 you got a lot of DOF at close range...I like it a lot.
I think you could juice it up a bit...

This is bang right in your face. The bird must have been very close to stop down so far. Looks solid.

This looks really good William! I love hte head on view and the high key lighting really creates some cool contrast. Detail is lovely. Noise is starting to rear its head in the eyes, so maybe a bit of selective NR on those
and a few other dark spots. Otherwise really solid!

Another great image Will. Love the details on the face, the colours, high key BG. TFS

Well done. How large a crop? If you use the Ruler Tool to draw a line between the bottom of the two eye skins I am pretty sure that you will see that this one needs some CW rotation.

Hi Artie this is about 60% of the original...I noticed that it needed rotated, but left it with a slight slant, as I thought it looked rather cute at that angle.

Well done William. DOF looks good on this close up . Nice details, but I would like to see a little more noise reduction.

I agree some NR to certain spots would be beneficial, but I love the whimsical look to this puffin :-)
