A couple of days ago I went for the Mandarins and they wouldn't come close, so I shot the tufted ducks. Exact same place today, the tufts kept their distance and the mandarins wanted to play. Wish I knew why!

Very pretty duck. The low angle is nice. Love the pattern of the longer feathers.

Great colours on the plumage, and the ultra low angle is very appealing. If you have it, I'd add back some canvas, as the duck is rather large in the frame, and sits quite low in it as well (no room for the "virtual" belly under the water)

Beautiful perspective and details Mike. I really like your waterfowl images. Very strong!. I agree with Dan that a little more room all around would be nice but isn't that bird photography? Either you can't get them close at all or they are in your face!

Well done Mike...Colours are spot on. Lovely HA. ISO 3200 Not a problem :S3: I may sharpen the eye and cheek area a little more.

This is beyond superb with the perfect head angle for the swimming at you pose. Yes to more room all around especially at the bottom.

with love, artie
