So many crane pictures taken at Bosque but this one stood out for me. Taken 5 minutes before sunset and the light was divine!
Canon 1 DX 600mm and 1.4 x
F 7.1 ISO 1000 SS 1/2500
Cropped to ~85% FF
Nothing added or cloned
NR to BG with Neat Image, LR sliders: exposure +. 25, clarity +7 , vibrance +3 , saturation +3, levels in photoshop and DE/TC at 15% to bird only.
I did do a version with the yellows reduced on the bird but I didn't think it reflected what I saw.
Comments and critiques always learned from and appreciated with thanks,
Gail

Gail, the light, flight position and detail are spectacular. The bird has an almost bronzed look. It's a bit too bad that he straddles the horizon line, but not a big deal.

I like the curved wing tips, IQ, details, BG, composition and beautiful light. Excellent as usual!

Very nice. Sweet light and a sweet pose. Really like the curled up wing tips.

showcase sandhill for sure! Perfecto wingspread, HA, pleasing colors, sharp, and love the golden eye. Curled primaries ice the cake for me!

Hi Gail, sweet, sweet light, and what a great flying pose. In turn, this shows off the wing detail so well. Overall, tack sharp, killer BG, and gotta love that we can see right through the nostril. Well captured.

Awesome look at the bird itself, that light is just to die for! I love these wide wingspread positions as well. The intersecting horizon is unfortunate but the rest of the shot is so strong I don't think it matters too much

Oh boy that is gorgeous light! Excellent flight pose, you could not have asked for better. The horizon line sits low enough for me. Such a beautiful frame.

This is really nice Gai. The stretched wings and the evening light are perfect.

Now that is the light and the light angle I am talking about!! My favorite of yours from Bosque, even with the horizon intersecting the bird. The HA looks great and the feather details Rock!! Very nice one Gail
