Semi staged. Taken around a bird feeding station at a local wildlife conservation area. Full frame. Straight size reduction without sharpening. Dodged the iris area to bring out what was there.

Hello Jack, Very nice details on the chickadee. The eye looks great but not a true representation of a their black "beady" eyes. I would suggest more room all around, less heavy perch and lastly, the diagonal lines draw my eye away from the bird.

Hi Jack,
I pretty much agree with everything Ann has said.
I would crop in from the bottom to get rid of the OOF stuff in LLC and smooth out the lines created by the OOF branch above the chickadee. The bird itself looks great and is nice and sharp with a good exposure.
I am OK with the eye but think you could have left it as is and it would still look nice.

SH with a good EXP. Yes to a healthy crop from the bottom. The dark triangle upper left makes the face appear darker than it really is ...
