Nice detail but much too contrasty and too saturated. Sharp and a good job with the crop.

Yes my first impression was the saturation and contrast was too high, the blacks are almost featureless (especially the eye which is a dominant aspect in the image). At this magnification I suspect you could lessens the sharpening a little bit also.

Agreed on the contrast and saturation being a little excessive but a very nice portrait pose. I'm jealous about how close you were able to get.
The Kestrels in my area bolt as soon as you take your foot off the gas pedal.
