Red knot in flight

This frame is from my first shoot with Nikon D5. It was very windy, wet and dark and I didn't expect much but I was surprised how I was able to lock on and track on these small and fast fliers in low light with tail wind in light rain. The red knot is still in winter plumage


D5 with 600 f/4 E + 1.4X III. ISO 3200 f/5.6 at 1/2500 sec hand held processed with Capture One Pro

Hi Ari, well captured for a fast flyer. Excellent sharp detail, and I liked the raised wings from the flight pose. I'm fine with the lighter BG due to the overcast conditions, but would loved to have seen this against a colourful BG.

Thanks Stu, Background is actually water (ocean) with no light, there was no color either.

Love the sharpness , the raised near-wing, and the image design -- I am assuming that this a crop from our right and from below. Perhaps increasing the contrast a bit would give it some pop. .

Nice and sharp flight image. I too, would have loved a better BG but it is what it is!!
