A Willy Wagtail posing nicely for me. These are very common in Brisbane, but I still enjoy photographing them.

Detail/sharpness looks pretty good. Lighting is tough since he looks to be shaded. A bit more head turn towards us would also help make for a more engaging image.

Hi Dorian,
Thank you for the feedback. Just edited this one taken at the same location. Is this pose better?

Yes, The eye contact is greatly improved! The bird need not necessarily be looking right at you, but there needs
to be enough of a tilt so that the bird is aware of the shooter. If that connection isn't make at the time of
capture the photo won't connect with the the viewer later. There are certainly artistic exceptions to this, but they
are usually by careful design. My two cents, cheers!

Yes, number 2 is much better. I like the background a lot better and the light seems better.
Bird looks great in pane 2,

I can see why you like these first frame. Both have great backgrounds with good pose. This bird has an awesome name by the way.

Hi John,
They are one of the easier birds to photograph...they always pose nicely. Cheers.

I like them both (but for the awkward image design in the second one). The BLACKs are way blocked up in the first one. NIK 50-50 and then pulling the curve up a bit would surely help.

Hi Artie. Thanks (as always) for your feedback and suggestions. Could you please elaborate on the "awkward image design" comment?
Cheers.

YAW Paul. My choice of words was not the best. Had the bird been looking more to our right, the image design would have been fine. But with the head position that you got I am thinking that a square or boxy crop would have been better. Cropping away that ugly-*** branch in the llc during that process would be a huge plus ...
