This image was taken at Pea Island NWR on the Outer Banks of North Carolina this past October.

Nice light, pose and setting. Maybe a bit CCW rotation and the bird could be a little bit further right in the frame. Was it very windy when you made this image? I wonder whether a slightly higher angle would have worked better here in order to be able to see the feet.

Axel, I recall it might have been a little windy that day. It is known to be quite windy on the Outer Banks. My original has the willet a little further to the right side of the frame....I cropped the one posted here just a little from the left side. Easy to fix along with CCW rotation.

A nice image. I am normally all for getting low. But I think being able to see the feet in this case would be desirable.

Looks like you nailed this one Lori. Beautiful low angle, great light, stunning composition and a perfect BG, this is no doubt a winner. Congrats!
