I like the mood of this shot very much. Kudos for taking an almost entirely overlooked bird and capturing it in an interesting way. Light was harsh here though and you have a strong shadow on the bird and the whites of the nape are a bit too hot. Still a pleasing image.

Wonderful flight shot John with the highlighted head against the dark BG. Looks like a few hot spots as noted but overall, really nice.

Love that well lit sparkly eye and face even though light was challenging. BTW, Looking through your images makes me want to get that lens....
