This is a male Superb Fairy Wren just starting to enter the breeding plumage, not looking so superb at this stage. A very busy little bird as it forages in the grass and litter.

Classic fairy wren pose and with a perfect head angle. Sorry but overall this one does not work for me. I think you would have a stronger image if the light was not so harsh, if there was not so much distracting stuff all around the bird, if there were not grasses obscuring some of the bird, if there were not thick grass stalks right behind the birds head, and if the head of the bird were sharper. Songbird photography is really hard, especially for such small and fast moving subjects. Ideally it is best to have more separation between the bird and the background as vegetation that is too close just looks like clutter in pictures.

Neat little bird. Light looks harsh but it is what it is.
