ALmost like a water colour picture, a very nice effect. I like the composition.

A beautiful shot, John. I love the pose with ruffled feathers, and the background. The bent yellow stem behind the legs is slightly distracting, but no biggee.

I really like the pose, and the beautiful scenery here. Makes for a great shorebird image. Head looks a touch soft to me and I think the processing is slightly off. Shot has a yellow cast and would benefit from a bit of a bump in the blacks.

Great low POV, agree with the color shift (easy fix) and the head being a bit unsharp, again somewhat fixable.

A beautiful image of the marbled godwit.
Great low angle shot and I very much like the green grass behind the bird. In an optimal situation the bird had been standing further in front of the grass so all the grass had been blurred.
Fine composition and head angle. The head/eye could have done with a bit more sharpness.

I like the ruffling posture and ditto all the positives above, especially Bill's comment on the bent yellow reed. It is less than ideal that the bird was squinting.

with love, artie

If you select those yellow reeds that Bill mentions, you can then tweak the colours to make them match the rest and less apparent. Neat pose, and I love the habitat you got it against.
