I made this image yesterday while hiking the Hodos in Bryce Canyon National Park.

This was created at the start of Navajo Loop Trail. I liked the colors of Hodos created by Light and choose to create this Abstract Image.

Nikon D850, 24-120 f/4
ISO 1000, f/8, 1/250 sec
Matrix Metering, Manual Mode
Hand Held.

Post Processing:-

Minor Crop
Nik Filters
Noise Reduction

Hope you like it.

Let me know your thoughts and comments.

Thanks
Krishna

Hi Krishna.. Firstly a bit of qualification.. Currently sitting in a caravan(motorhome) with an OLD laptop with dubious screen. My first thought was that the lower LH side looked a bit bright... secondly, I thought that the diagonal might be better corner to corner, so i imported it into PS and cropped accordingly and bought down the brightness LLH side... unfortunately the image still dident jump out at me.. I then thought maybe B&W which I tried in spite of your love of the colour and that again was only a subtle improvement... My final step was to flip the image so Lower LH became lower RH.. That made more of a difference than I would have thought... but still so so... we were not bonding:e3... So, what use is this critique to you? well I hope its some (which is why I wrote it) but in spite of my efforts I feel it lacks a 'jump out at you' element... but good for you for trying, others might love it..

regards

DON

Hi Krishna...abstracts are lots of fun to shoot and I do like where you were heading with this one...a few small tweaks and think you are good...I do prefer Don's corner to corner crop with the diagonal and agree on toning down the brightness of the foreground rock a bit. Don's B&W repost is also effective but it also highlights a couple of spots in the distant rock that appear brighter...if opting for a B&W as an alternate image I would recommend cloning those bright spots out. In the color version those brighter spots are not very noticeable but in the B&W they become distractions.

Thinking outside the box and trying something new is always fun. Love the idea you had here and the execution.
