Just moments before touching down on the beach. I was lucky it passed in front of a good clean green forest patch as there are man-made structures on either side. I do wish the far wing had less of a shadow on it, but my excuse is that it makes the bill stand out against it:t3

Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/3200s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, cropped for comp, reduced some of the darker ares in the BG via low-opacity cloning and dodge tool.

Daniel, nice and sharp, great colors, nice BG but that shadow is unfortunate.

I agree with the shadow - unfortunate if not a deal breaker. The nicely fanned out tail feathers make up for it though

Evertyhing looks good here but that shadow to me. Bird stands out really well against the nice green background.

Hi Daniel, wonderful wingspread and BG, I like how the kight illuminates the face and eye! I'm wondering if you could consider increasing exposure a bit, looks a bit dark overall... Maybe a case of me having too much SUN! Love that heavy duty bill, and the fantail!

Such shadows are often unavoidable with flight photography. You do your best to get approximately on sun angle but the bird is not just sitting there. My only wish is that the shadow of the bill was complete, i.e., that it showed the whole bill not just the tip.

Otherwise excellent as expected with both underwings perfectly lit all the way to the primaries. .
