I made this image at Young Farms Lavender Fields UT
Nikon D850, Sigma 150 f/2.8
ISO 1250, f/5, 1/1250 sec
Matrix Metering, Manual Mode.

I like the composition and delicate colours. I like to see detail in the eye.
My immediate reaction was why f5? I would have gone for f8 and if the opportunity remained then f11. I would want a soft background but equally importantly I think his armoured back plate should have been in focus. The DOF is just a bit shallow for me but I really like the image. You have made me reflect I need to go to the local heathland and try to get some grasshopper shots. The camera is a current model so its performance at higher ISO will be good, the fast shutter speed was a good idea.

Hi Krishna,
Love the color pallete you have working here - very nice in background and perch. Agree with Jon about aperture and DOF. Overall a pleasing image.

I think the shallow depth of field works to your advantage. The sharpness is right where it should be. Love the colors here.

Beautiful capture Krishna and do agree that the shallow DOP makes this image work very nicely!
