Great,i've just been told I look like your subject Jon,just woken up lol.:bg3::cheers:

Jon, it's actually quite a striking pose from Pumba,he's not really baby boar cute, but there is something almost regal about how the animal is standing, It's a cracking pose !!

Jon your detail is really wonderful and I really like your framing. Mate, I have no right to comment on colour,( I know nothing of Africa)but I'll watch with interest what the others say,the frame looks blue to me?? Maybe just a grey old day ?? You haven't made any special notes on light, or time of day taken, maybe it's me 1/2 awake as I say i'm not terribly comfortable noting this but it is what i'm seeing??

Fabulous detail Jon !!

take care

Stu taken about 7.30 am, I noted the the colour temp of the original capture was around 4800 the colours were as here but I couldn't settle with the red colour, I checked the white balance and ended up with the first one I posted.

Hi Jon, like the funky pose, just wished if you could have is go lower.

Because the face is full of lovely textures & form, I would try to work on building up the face with lights & shadows. F/68 looks about right with the head turn. OP looks fine, but agree, drop the Blue.

Hi Jon - OP colors look much better to me for green season. Good suggestions by Steve. Love all the hair standing up on top of the head.

Hello Jon!

Love this punk:bg3: He is very very cute, and has incredibly long hair! Nice pose too.

Err...I won't say to you " go somewhere in-between the OP and RP" LOL, they are very different. More inclined to believe the RP is closer to what you saw, and these are my thoughts after thinking a bit about this:

1. If I am not mistaken Letaba has a lot of red, clay soils.
2. From what I remember you said there was quite a bit of rain when you were in the Kruger so the vegetation in the RP seems to me the right colour (sweet yellowish green)
3. Subject has mud on its feet and body so he's been wallowing (probably in red mud)

Based on those assumptions I came up with another RP. WB was done in LR, see grey little leaf just above the letter "A" from ARPS:w3 WDYT?

Warmest regards,

Gabriela I think you nailed it! You are correct regarding Letaba region colours...... and the rain! Thanks for taking the time, as a consequence I will revise my initial conversion.

Thank you Jon, glad you happy with this. Just saw a few warthogs the other day and was thinking about their colour. They had this dried up yellow mud here and there on the body and patches of red mud on their feet. This clay soil of ours...One reason why we hardly ever wear white clothing, just one step outside and one has to wash everything again. It stains...One good thing about it, it's good for plants - you can plant anything here upside down and it still grows, LOL.

Enjoy your afternoon:)

Kind regards,
