I made this image in the mountains near my home in Utah.


Nikon D850, Sigma 150 Macro
ISO 1000, f/3.5, 1/800 sec
Auto White Balance, Manual Mode, Matrix Metering

Processed using C1P, Affinity Photo, Neat Image and Nik Filter

Really like the composition here. Doesn't look to be in sharp focus too me. I'm sure you have some wind to deal with in the mountains. These grow where i live in Upstate New York.

I choose to photograph this handheld, wide open that could probably the reason for not being tack sharp. I don't mind it as of now.

The DOF looks a little limited a consequence my eyes are constantly roaming around the flower heads. Cameras with high MP sensors areunforgiving, they require particular attention to detail, I think your chances of success handholding at f3.5 are going to be very limited. I think you would have needed at least f8 at this magnification. Depending upon the wind velocity 1/800 sec should've been ok hand holding.
