Hi all. This is one of my favourite birds to photograph. I saw it on a branch in the distance and moved slowly closer...but of course (as they do) it flew away. I decided that I would wait near the branch and hope for the best. Luckily it flew around and landed a while later..patience is definitely a virtue.
7D Mk2, 100-400 lens at 400mm, 1/1250th sec, f6.3, iso400, AV mode. PP in acr and PS. As the sky was featureless I tried a number of different crops...but settled on 3:2. I'd appreciate any feedback as to this crop value or suggestions for a better crop. Thank you all.

Nice pose, nice perch. Love the colors on these birds.

Hi Paul, lovely pose, and the colours look good. You have brought out the plumage detail nicely, and sharp too. There is nothing we can do if the subject is against a sky BG.

FYI. - For future adventures with any Bee-eater, after taking off from a perch, they normally return to the same perch. :w3

Hi Stu. Thank you for the feedback...I'll be going to the same location again soon! Cheers.
