This image is from early yesterday morning at Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida. Not the usual pure background but it shows the hawk in its habitat. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Hi Joe, one of your best, I really like it, good detail, sharpness and the open beak 'calling' just adds for me. Shoot more higher ISO, with a faster SS, it pays you, based on this.

Why go lower on SS???

But the ISO was 4000, a pleasant surprise how well the noise cleaned up.

A pleasant surprise indeed and something to build on Joe as I have been telling you :S3:, but some folk will still prefer lower ISO and a soft image at times, why?? A well exposed image and a higher ISO with todays technology is, a thing of the past. Cameras are now designed to take shots that in the past were not thought possible, keep going, and the PP looks good too, albeit on the laptop as I'm away.

WOW!!, Joe. This is a spectacular capture. Great calling pose, finest sharp detail, and I like all the Spanish moss and evergreen branches. Well done.

Love the open mouth and the setting here. Good composition as well.

Very nice Joe. Beautiful soft feather details and I like the placement of the bird in the moss. Open mouth of course is excellent. I think you need to add a few points of black to the shot, reduce the mid tones a few points and add a touch of warmth and you will have a real winner here.

Yea, this is really nice. Mossy habitat adds a lot without distracting from the subject. Very sharp and engaging image.
