Bald Eagle

Juvenile bald eagle in the rain. This image was created at Montezuma national wildlife refuge in Tyre, New York on 4/16/18 at 9:26AM. Image made from vehicle. This is the closest i have ever been to a upstate New York bald eagle. The setting isn't ideal here. But i like it.

Hi John, good low perspective shooting from a car. Good HA too. God DOF, nice and sharp for a slow shutter speed, and I like the rain on the feathers.

Good to see a different perspective of these birds. Details and head angles are pretty good. I would lose the thick branch that is just above the back. I am surprised that no one has mentioned it but your white balance is off and that has caused a strong yellow cast to the whole image. I would go back to the start and adjust that. An easy fix in PS is to go to curves, pick the gray point dropper and put it over the neutral grays tones in the water that are above the flight feathers. You will see that it will quickly fix that problem. I would then reduce the mid tones a couple points and warm up the image just a touch. A couple subtle changes that will have a big impact on the image.

This is a lovely close-up of one of these birds John---they always look so sorry and bedraggled after a rain dousing.
