Detail on the bird looks good. Don't know about the square crop. The bird is a little tight in the frame.

The bird looks great! Nice colours, details. The eye is amazing. I agree the comp is not ideal, but more importantly, I wish the background would have been more distant for it to be better blurred.

A,azing detail and light on this crane! we have lots of these around here in MN but they never let me get close like this. I too wish the background was more blurred, or subdued.
