Common resident in the Okavango Delta and elsewhere. I removed an oof branch and a few bare spots in the bg.

Hi Bill, your killing me with these images from your trip to Africa. Beautiful bird, good exposure, about perfect background. Thank you for sharing.

I can't fault anything here, Bill. Another fine shot from your trip. Great detail, lovely handling of the whites and great pop from the background. I suspect it wasn't done at 30mm though!

Bill, Sweet shot, nothing to nit. Is the Little egret the same as our Snowy?

Thank you all. Yes,, Glenn, that should have read 390mm. Tim, the Little Egret (Egretta garzetta) is widespread in southern Africa, and southern portions of Europe and Asia. It does indeed look very similar to its American cousin, our Snowy Egret (Egretta thula). Distinctions like the yellow lores on the Snowy, the plumes during breeding, and their respective hunting postures, are pretty minor.

Cool flight capture, Bill. I agree with the nice handling of the whites. Good wing position and like the trailing feet. On my monitor starting about 3/4" above the bill, a band towards the left edge of frame that looks worked on. Also cloning repeats about 2" below the beak and to the L. Not a deal breaker, but for possible print.
