So often it was the case that the background was less than ideal but I got lucky with this one, it was not a set up, just a chance encounter.

Background looks perfect here. Nice pose on the bird with good detail as well. Like the spider webs on the perch.

The soft diffuse light on the bird is great.
I love the perfect HA and what a great BG.
Perch is a bit big but not a huge issue! Why can't little birds learn to perch on little perches ?
Very nice Jon,

Very nice pose, lovely background. Don't mind the perch. Such beautiful birds.

Nought wrong with this one Jon, lovely detail and colour, wouldn't change anything. Pleasing BKG that tones in well with the overall colour palette, nice work. I just wonder if some more DoF may have helped to soften the transition of the perch on the RHS, being a bit more 'in focus' rather than a sudden departure from subject to perch. No deal breaker, just a thought.

Beautiful bird with a perfect background. Well balanced comp. I'd have preferred it perch on the little oof knob, but it was kind enough to choose this nice backdrop for you, so that was a good compromise:S3:. BTW, I love the webbing on the perch,

Couldn't have asked for better light with such a great capture, Jonathan. Perfect complimentary BG. Great feather detail as well.
