I posted a few images of this species recently as they gave me a nice show a couple of weeks ago. Here's another, plus a blogpost you can visit about my encounter with these guys' courtship activities:

Interesting perspective on a Common Goldeneye Daniel! Must have been cold to get that low shooting angle in the dead of winter!

A unique look at this Goldeneye; don't think I've ever seen one from this angle. I won't ask who won the staredown. In addition to the bird, I love the look of the water with your low POV.

Really unusual pose!
I like the perfectly symmetrical look at both eyes and love the chipmunk cheeks.
Your comments imply a small crop so I might be tempted to crop tighter all around.

Great low angle. Interesting pose on the bird. I like the composition here.

Amazingly sick pose. The soft light and low angle are killer. Bummer that the snow cave was not centered right over his head ...

with love, artie

This is super cool Daniel. My kind of shooting angle and a really interesting pose. Love the snow as a background. Very nice!
