Judging from the dark back and wings I think this juvenile is a male that will turn all black. I captured this image at Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Very nice work Joe. I really like the colour and tone on the darker plumage and the pose with legs spread across two stalks. Background is as good as they get. If mine, I'd try to tone down the highlights on the perch a little more but no deal breaker.

Hi Joe, the light is soft and you did well capturing the iridescence . Maybe a bit of contrast here, to play with, and yes to toning down the stalk highlights. Pretty!
