Captured this image of what I think might be a juvenile in Botswana a month ago. A lifer for me. C&C welcome.

D500, Sigma 150-600mm C @ 360mm, 1/1600s, f 6.3, hh, ISO 2500.

Really nice pose and the perch to match. Pretty good result for ISO 2500.

Like the perch and the take off pose. Image quality looks good for the high ISO.

I love the image composition with that long textured branch.
Nice take off pose.Love the wing extension. Sharp.
I see a hint of blue in the sky and if you wanted, you could pull a bit more blue out of the sky by doing the following; In LR, go to luminance in the HSL panel and REDUCE (yes, you read that properly!) the blues by a few points. It will do wonders. Try it!
I think this needs a tweak in levels as well in photoshop. Midtones could use a bit of pop.
Very nice frame Geoffrey,
Gail

Thanks Gail. I wasn't sure about pulling a bit more blue in the sky out or not. I have Lightroom, but since the image was already loaded in CS6 I thought why not use Color Range, adjustment layer HS. I also went to levels and adjusted the mid tones. WDYT?

Edited version definitely better. Like the take off pose and the perch. I have never seen a Tawny Eagle before so TFS.

A correction must be made here. This is not a Tawny Eagle, but a Juvenile Bateleur Eagle with the distinctive gray facial skin and bill structure. Would one of the moderators please change the title to: Juvenile Bateleur Eagle.

Thanks to Bill, I remembered we had both agreed this was a juvenile, but at the time we were not a 100% sure what type. Yes indeed this is a juvenile Bateleur Eagle.

Thanks,

Geoffrey
