I captured this image a while back and worked on it today. This Florida bird is very endangered from habitat loss. A treasure to still be able to find. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Joe:

Always a pleasure to see a scrub jay. Nice pose, head angle, raised foot, depth in the bg. Nice catchlight.

The perch is a bit busy.

Cheers

Love the bird but not the perch.
All else is good!

I agree about the perch, but the jay and the overall blues are very appealing. Good details too. This bird, like the Gray Jay up here, lends itself well to in-camera vertical compositions.

Hi Joe,

Like the blue on blue. We did see them on our trip, but never got this close. That pine perch may not be the most attractive, but pine trees are part of their habitat. I would have been thrilled to get such a good look at this endangered bird.

Bird looks good and this is clearly a natural perch so points for that. The OOF stuff in the
BG is a bit distracting, but for an in-field shot, this is pretty good.
