Hi John, I like the low perspective, and the crab meal is a huge bonus for both of you. I wish I could eat /afford crab. :w3 Good detail showing up on the Gull, sharp, and I like the running water on the foot. I realise the BG is probably surf, but toning it down slightly may help to make the Gull pop even more.

Although you are over in the states, this Gull is very similar to our Juvenile Kelp Gulls.

A nice image of the gull especially with the huge crab. It may have improved the image if the crab had turned 180 degrees as the stomach is very bright like the background, but that's nothing you can do about ... ; - )

Like Stu, I also would prefer the gull to pop out some more, but as the surroundings are very similar in color to the gull, it may be a bit tricky. My suggestion would be to reduce the exposure just a fraction. Also, the eye of the gull could could need a bit of lightening by using a dodge tool.
