Sacred Kingfisher II

The birds were feeding young inside the ant nest and this bird aborted the approach at the last minute. Maybe it saw me but I was reasonably concealed but only 5 meters away. I also thought they might be hearing the motor drive which had me curious about their hearing range because the cicadas were near deafening to my ears.

Looks like the front half of the bird is just outside the critical point of focus.
Keep at it mate, you'll nail a ripper soon. I am sure of that. :)

Thats quite the jumbo insect! i like the position of the kingfisher you captured here! Well done, almost tack sharp. I would suggest lifting the blacks if you can... I loo forward to more!
