Hi all,

Another junco. This was from last weekend when it snowed, taken later in the day when the sun was starting to poke out, so slightly backlit here. I have some shots with the snow falling, but I'll start with this one for now. Standard adjustments for me, slight crop, NR and sharpening in PS.

Camera: Nikon D500
Lens: 200-500mm f/5.6 at 500mm
Specs: 1/800 ISO 1600 f/5.6

Thanks for looking and commenting on prior posts!

Very nice. Love the perch with all that red. You can always count on the Junco's.

This is really nice Alex.
The reds and blacks against the high key snow look really nice.
I just wish the berry did not intersect with the wing and I would clone that out in a heartbeat.
I would crop add a bit tto he bottom to include the little bit of cut off branch and take same amount off the top to maintain crop ratio.
I cannot get my juncos to get off the ground and up on my set-up branches!

Hi Alex, I like the angled pose, and you have brought out the finer plumage very well. The berries pop nicely from the snow BG, and agree with Gail to try and include the 'cut off' branch at the bottom of the frame.

Great perch, and I love the foot gripping a berry. I agree with Gail, especially about the branch below, and I also wish this was front-lit (or fill-flashed), but you had a pretty cool opportunity here.

What a nice job you're doing with the set-ups. This is lovely. I agree with Gail's comments on crop, and on the berry behind the wing. I might be tempted to brighten just the bird (not the berries) just a tad.

Hi all, thanks for the comments and suggestions. I really appreciate it. Here's a RP, it was harder than I thought it would be cloning out that berry. Thanks again!
