Merry Christmas to All, and to All a Good Light!

This is a great shot. With so many owl pictures taken of a bird in a static pose, the mid-stride capture and the blowing tall grass really does well to convey a sense of motion. I'm on an uncalibrated B-grade laptop, so I can't judge colour, brightness and such with any accuracy, but at the risk of eating my words, it all looks good to me!

|Neat habitat. I like the walking motion as well, and good view of the talons. I could do without the thicker grass to our left of the owl's face. I love the BG behind all those grasses. Beautiful image for sure.

A real beauty Bill! I like the setting, raised foot, IQ and composition. After reading Daniels suggestion to remove that thicker grass my eye is drawn there.

Thank you Jake, Daniel and Jim. I had thought that the thick grass might help frame the bird, but I agree that it would be better without it. I did remove a few thin wisps of grass blowing across the owl's face, but this one would be harder to remove without some very delicate cloning.
