While waiting for the star subject, common kingfisher, this yellow bittern helped to pass the time. Here, it struck an interesting pose with eyes locked on to the prey, so I thought it is worth developing the image and sharing it.

This is not tit-for-tat comment... don't know how you find so many great subjects... really like the treatment and unusual pose.

This is excellent. Love the pose and how it's hidden behind the foliage. This is really cool.

'Our' Bitterns this side of the pond rarely give this kind of out in the open opportunity, so this is a real treat for me to see. Great pose, and I love the extra interest from the plant.

Thanks Isaac and Mike. I guess since bittern must be feeling neglected so does strike some interesting poses. Only down side is it stays close to water, so you are shooting down which make BG a bit too busy.

Way cool, with an interesting perch. Quite the concentration on this fella too. I love the near leg poking through some feathers. The black area behind the subject is bad luck, but this image rocks nonetheless.
