I captured this image last month at Quinta Mazatlan, South Texas. A lifer for me. C&C welcome.

D500, Nikon 500mm f/4G + 1.4 TC, 1/800s, f 7.1, ISO 2000, Gitzo, Wimberley Gimbal head.

Removed a distracting branch in cs6.

Nice shot. Loving the ruffled neck feathers and the colors of the eye and lores. Only thing I would do is crop just slightly from the left and bottom to put the dove someplace other than dead center.

The comp is already starting to get tight, so I would go the opposite of Jake: adding back top and right, if the original frame has it. I feel the colours could be livened up a bit. I like the way you got the feather layers on the wing, and the ruffled neck feathers as well. Congrats on your first WWD!

I am afraid I agree with Daniel. If you have a little space still, perhaps loosen the crop?
Nice and soft tones and light. Simple, but well executed.
