There is a typo in my message, it should say Orton effect not Norton effect...Terry

Hi Terry..

I see you have been waiting a while for comment... Merry Christmas anyway... I think this image has potential and the Oroton ? effect has given the image a dreamlike quality, however for me the effect might be better tempered a little with a mask, around the ridgeline anyway. I like a little more detail, although I expect others will think differently. I would have also de-centered the light and added a little more sea/bit less land..

regards

DON

Soft and dreamy. A lovely image. I have seen many photos of Yaquina light, but this one is memorable. I have to learn more about the Orton effect.

I'm drawn right to that lighthouse. The pano crop is nice.

The 1/5 second shutter speed has calmed the waves nicely and the orton effect has added to the dreamy quality which I think compliments this image. Agree with Don on de-centering the light.

Hi Terry, I do like the orton effect you applied to this scene. Nice lighting and mood as well. I also wish that the lighthouse was not so centered

I wanted to thank those who posted responses. I appreciate the feedback. Several of you felt I should not have centered the lighthouse. This is a personal preference as I wanted capture the seclusion of the lighthouse on the peninsula by showing more of the isolated peninsula terrain in the image.
