I like the use of the diagonal line of the ridge to guide you though the image and the tree is a strong graphic element and balanced by the odd looking boulder in the image (the one with the cut in it).

Nice diagonal. and I like the detail in the complexity of the tree branches, it is not just a black blob as can happen with some silhouettes, but a really intricate natural thing. I like images like this because they are simple, graphic and attractive. But I also like them because you can use them in so many ways. It makes a nice image for the wall, but is also a great stock image, with lots of ways it can be used by the layout artist. Two page spreads, spots, crops, verts, plus many places to lay in text either in the sky or in the black.
