Captured this image a few weeks back at Laguna Seca Ranch, Texas as the rain was just starting to fall. When I first saw a Green Jay the day after we arrived in South Texas, I was impressed with its colorful feather patterns. As common as it is in these parts, I continued to enjoy its antics and beautiful feather display. C&C welcome.

Gorgeous exotic looking bird... nice perch, perfect background. Not sure what the specks are in the background, I probably would remove them. Thank you for sharing, Geoffrey.

Thanks Joe. Those specks you see are rain drops. There are some water droplets clinging to his tail also.

Lovely shot great pose amazing colours.
I have noticed mention of several ranches in Texas - are these locations where the general public can visit?

Thanks Jonathan. Both the Laguna Seca Ranch and the Martin Refuge, we visited are privately owned, and you will find a full description of both locations, plus about arranging a visit at the respective websites. Just add .com
