Doug, my flight shots from the morning were OK. The colour of the grass I really loved especially with the stilt in it.

Like the composition, included grass kind of added to image. Very nice job with keeping subject clear.

I like the grasses, the head angle, and the basic COMP, but the blacks and the bokeh (the quality of the o-o-f BKGR especially right above the bird) are both on the strange side. And the light looks really flat.

I had a good albeit somewhat abbreviated time at the marsh this morning Gary. Sorry that the flight shots were just OK. Flight is tough, especially with big lenses at close range. I like the composition of this photo but I agree with Artie about the OOF BG; perhaps a little Gaussian blur?

Very nice pose and habitat. The light looks a bit harsh but you handled the exposure well.
