One of the cockatoo family of birds. This one was coming in to a local dam for a last drink near sunset. Background was in shadow helping the bird stand out here. Crop is around two thirds of the frame area.

Thanks for taking a look an any comments you may be kind enough to share.

Technical: Canon 80D with EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM (original version) at 400mm handheld. Manual exposure 1/1000 sec, f8, ISO 1600. Processed in Canon DPP 4 (digital lens optimiser @ 50, sharpness = 3, crop, lighting adjustments, NR) then exported 16 bit TIFF to Photoshop Elements with Neat Image NR plugin. Modest NR applied to bird and stronger to background. Bird sharpened in PSE (Sharpness tool, remove Gaussian Blur: 0.4 pixels at 50%) after final size reduction.

Nice little corella Glenn, really stands out well in the frame. I guess a faster shutter speed could have frozen the wings, but I like the sharp body and slightly blurred wings, reminds me of how fast they flap.

Nice one Glenn. The BG shows the bird good. Lovely detail and I think the wing blur brings 'movement' to the image.

Pretty cool Glenn. I like the blurred wings as the head is pretty sharp. I like the pose and light is nice. I think if mine I would try a bit more sharpening on the feet. Nice catchlight as well. TFS
