Taken today in local woods with:
Canon EOS 5D Mark IV
EF600mm f/4L IS II USM
ƒ/8.0
1/320
ISO 1250

I was trying to get perfect portait of that woodpecker. Not sure if i managed to do that but i like this one a lot.

Wonderfully detailed. The image looks just a tad OTT in terms of brightness, I suspect your TIFF was fine but the jpeg is slightly clipped at both ends of the histogram. The image has a look of "flash" about it if you get my meaning. I would be tempted to go back to the raw because it really is a lovely shot. I have never seen a middle spotted woodpecker, you are making me very jealous with the variety of birds in your region:w3

Thanks Jonathan. If you fancy a visit that bird will be there all autumn/winter and i hope for some other interesting birds but time will tell.

Great shot Tomasz! I like the colours and I think the second processing is better. The first one looks a bit sharper on my monitor, though.
Middle spotted woodpeckers are really great subjects.

Wonderful image. Both look just fine to me in terms of brightness. I only wish that the tail had been raised.
