Taken yesterday early evening at a local preserve. This Harrier has just spotted potential prey, but either the critter ducked out of sight or wasn't on the menu. C&C welcome.

D500, Sigma 150-600mm C @ 600mm, 1/3200s, f 6.3, HH, ISO 4000.

Well timed on catching the flare of both wings and tail Geoffrey-and also for catching the upper wing perfectly highlighted against the bit of lighter BG. I like the splash of brighter colour added by the close-up tree and that the tree is w/i focus--it gives a nice added bit of detail.

Hi Geoff, good flight pose to go with your introduction, and the Harrier pops nicely from the distant BG. I do like those colours too. I can see a version by lightening the Harrier a touch more.

Wonderful moment captured Geoffrey. Raptor shots are so rare for me I really do have great esteem for shots like this with great wing position and environment. Tone, colour and detail all look excellent to me and the muted meadow colours work well. I'd be inclined to desaturate the OOF trees a touch to make the bird pop a little more. Composition works well for me.
