This is another pose on a Gannet I posted a few months ago. I liked the flight pose on this one, as he/she was shaking off water after taking off from the sea.

Just a great flight capture, William. First thing that impressed me, other than everything else, was the excellent control of the whites. Nice and sharp and such fine detail on the eye that where the specular highlight is positioned, we see the pupil clearly behind the curvature of the surface. Love the dangling feet and water droplets. If mine I might want to extend the lighter BG over the dark on right.

Will, unique pose, great exposure and nice subtle colors, that eye looks like it was made of glass and has some nice depth to it.

Beautiful work Will. Superb tone and colour, especially the way you've rendered this on the breast and underside white parts. Water droplets add a nice touch and all set nicely against a contrasting background. The bit of backlighting behind the tail is also great. As usual, you detail and clarity is excellent. Nice one.

Can only echo what's been said above -- a unique capture with nice details and a great eye. I also love the water drops falling behind. Nice handling of the exposure as well. TFS
