I had another early trip up to the Glen in Perthshire last week, where I managed to capture this Red Grouse, just after sunrise.

Excellent capture, William. Beautiful color palette, nice head turn with eye contact. Like what I presume is Heather he or she is walking in. If mine I might give a bit more room on left and base of image.

That's a cracker Will, love to see the trousers! Beautiful pose KO colours - well done!
There appears to be a very slight irregularity in the heather about breast height centre right - an almost horizontal line?

Thanks for the comments, much appreciated. Hi Geoffrey, No more canvas on the bottom unfortunately. I attempted to add canvas, but, never looked good. I tried selecting, and stretching the area, tried cloning, and also content aware crop, but wasn't happy with the results, so decided to leave as is. Hi Jon, sorry I don't see what you are talking about. A blade of grass maybe?

Beautiful bird, nice color and feather detail, lovely setting. If you wanted to try to add canvas to the bottom again, try the crop tool in Photoshop with Content Aware Fill checked off. Do it in small slices, sometimes that works when other ways do not. Thank you for sharing, Will.

Lovely image in great light. I was just reading an article that 99% of their diet is the heather.
I love the color palette.
Small issue- It looks like you might have cloned out a grass crossing the birds' upper tail area? I would rework that area a bit,

Just a touch tight for me. Otherwise spectacular setting and the bird is also gorgeous.
Well done mate.
Hope she survived the shooters
