I took a trip to New York City to meet up and shoot a bit with fellow BPN photographer Isaac Grant, and although we struck out at Jamaica Bay, there were still birds on the local beaches. Nickerson Beach was more or less devoid of its famous skimmers, but the oystercatchers and sanderlings were out in force.

Hey Jake. Nice pose, great eye contact and can't beat that low perspective. A very engaging frame. And it was a pleasure taking you around, despite our severe bad luck on the pond :5

Terrific, engaging pose, and great low POV. Like the hint of crashing surf beyond. Sorry to hear about Jamaica Bay.

Terrific low angle, just my type of approach! The water drops rising next to the foot are pretty cool. I just wish for a bit more parallel angle on the back half of the body. Still quite a strong image.

Captivating image. Love the approach and the droplets of water at the feet. Like that you caught him at the saturated drop/bend in the sand with the lower surf in BG.

Very clean and simple but effective frame and composition, Jake. The low POV is excellent and the generally washed out look works really well for me. I'd love to see just a touch more detail in the black on the upper breast but otherwise a really wonderful shot. Thanks for sharing.
