I haven't posted a bear image in a while so thought I would. This is the mom of the 3 cubs. They were eating some of the different sedge grasses in one of the channels so every so often she would stand to take a look around for any boars or other bears. This was on the one partially overcast day.

Canon 5D3
100-400 II @ 400mm
1/1500
f5.6
ISO 1600
HH, cropped to vertical to remove part of cub entering frame, levels, curves, TK luminosity masks, sharpened in PSCC.

C&C welcome and appreciated. Thanks,

Rachel

Hi Rachel, a lovely pose from the bear, the grass in the mouth, the wet paws with dripping water all add up nicely.

Great shot Rachel, with a few things going on to add interest: the water dripping from paws, open mouth with grass and that stare. Colours and tones look great and the setting is nice and neutral. Detail and clarity look excellent and the composition works. No quibbles from me on this one. Thanks for sharing.

I've loved this bear series you've produced - the location has been added to my ever growing list of desirable tours!

This one works particularly well for me because of the little features that add so much extra - the grass in the mouth, the water droplets raining down and that expression thats letting you know you've been spotted!

This made me laugh i don't know why. All the grass is nice and the grass in the bears mouth.

Thanks Haseeb and Dale. Dale - this bear is named Aggro. It would have been more fun if you were there.

Thanks again,
Rachel

Dearest Rachel,

Really quizzical look on this bear's face and I cannot stop starring at him:2eyes2:. Super expression and nice head angle, subject well positioned within the frame.

Lots to look at here... Me thinking I would love to see this on a magazine cover. Colours look great, lovely textures in the fur, IQ is there - wonderful work Rachel, in the field as well as PP work.

Wish I was there too, not sure Aggro would have been pleased though, seems he was already giving you a beady eye:w3

I really enjoyed this, the pose is fantastic - great timing, very well seen and captured my friend!

Warmest regards,

Thanks Gabriela. She really never seemed affected in any way by our presence. When she stood it was to look around for boars that might be a threat to her cubs. I think I just captured her as she scanned the area.

Thanks again,
Rachel
