Hi all,

Another sanderling from Sandy Hook, taken pretty soon after sunrise. In post, cloned out a sand bit on the beak and a large OOF shell in the BG, cropped a bit, some NR on the BG and sharpened.

Camera: Nikon D500
Lens: 200-500mm f/5.6 at 500mm
Specs: 1/2000 ISO 1100 f/5.6

Thanks for looking and commenting on prior posts!

Nice light, nice low angle with a good composition.

Lovely POV and frame Alex. I do love the light at this time of day and you've handled it very well. The remains of the crab and the bird's interest in it round off a great shot. Great clarity, tone and colour too. No nits from me.

Very nice image I like the behavioural aspect, I wonder if you could tease a little more detail from the plumage?

Really good work Alex, this has a lot going for it with the low POV, and the behaviour interest. I agree with Jon, that there might be a little more detail there in the whites on the bird but any work will need too be very subtle. If you have any spare frame, I'd personally move the crop very slightly to the left so there is a little more room behind the bird, but this is a really good shot.

Good pose. Ugly but interesting food item. I love the tiny sand pebbles. Nicely done.

Love that fresh juvenal plumage. Otherwise perfect. Good job on being right on sun angle.

Excellent low angle, light and details. I like the crab pincher, he seems to approaching cautiously well done

Great POV and IQ.
Also good PP- I would never have known you cloned anything out.
I really like the sand with the colored pebbles- very pretty and adds some nice colors.
