Nicely done and looks quite familiar. Most folks give up on GL much too soon. It was spectacular in early June this year. The mid-tones might go a bit darker and the Vibrance could stand a boost.

What a beauty this is, and well captured, Joe. Love the pose and all the feather detail. Lovely BG. To me the original represents the quality of soft or defused light you were working with. I'm not apposed to Artie's suggestion, it's just my opinion.

Joe, nice work as usual! I like the 'friz' on the top of the head. IQ, background, tones and DOF look great to me, as does the composition. Hard for me to pick between the original post and repost though. They both look great.

Love your close ups! Second image brings more life to this image. Nice juvi portrait. Well done!

The frizz is what makes this image fun. Made me smile.
I prefer the OP but would tweak the blacks in the neutrals in selective coloring in PS. I find the repost is "too much",

Yes, I like the original best. Very nice Joe. That BG shows the bird perfectly.

Lovely portrait Joe, some of the poses you get from herons and egrets make me smile with their inherent grumpy look.

Well executed shot, I prefer the colours of the OP
