Hi John,
I like your POV and the raised foot as he steps around the beach.
I hope you don't mind but I took this into Photoshop to address the following issues:
1. Image needs some CW rotation.
2.I cloned out most of the debris on the beach for a cleaner look
3.I cropped out the reflection at the bottom
4. I tried to tame the whites but it was difficult with using your JPEG format but there is definitely detail to be extracted in the hot white areas on neck and sides.
I should have sharpened this before I posted but you get the idea of what I was thinking,
Gail

A good Sanderling shot, John. Nice light, good pose and POV. I like Gail's ideas for cleanup and rotation, but also liked the relative size of the bird to the frame in the OP crop, so I might have left the reflection. I don't think it would have bothered me as long as the rest of the beach was clean, and the IQ might hold up better.

Good clean-up job by Gail but the sharpness and IQ could not take the crop ... The bird is a worn adult. Exposure is good. Both the bird and the head are angled ever-so slightly away from us.

Where?
