A baby puffin - aka puffing - peeps out of his burrow to see what all the fuss is about
A little bit of gardening to tidy up the vegetation on the extreme left and a couple of stray strands of earth removed

This is amazing Mike. Considering these little pufflings usually leave their burrows during the hours of darkness. Lovely detail and I just love that facial expression. Very well done mate. Fantastic capture.

Very cool Mike, I can't believe how different but still similar they look to the adults. I like the setting and crop and IQ looks good. TFS

I am so jealous! I have never seen a puffling.
The cuteness factor is way up there!
Good PP work and excellent exposure. I like your reflection in the eye!

Beautifully sharp, well-lit, and designed. Where and when? On my trip this year's the young puffins took a big hit. Atypically, we did not see a single puffling in a burrow.
with love, artie

Cheers Gail - I particularly liked the way the reflection seems to knock 20lb's off me ...

Cheers Artie,
This was take first week in July on the island of Skomer in Wales - IMHO the best place in the UK for puffins but lacks the best opportunities for other species compared to other locations

Congratulations, Mike. Good shot with a high cuteness factor. I'm told that one rarely gets to see the pufflings; I've certainly never seen one. Well done.
