Another from my day with the Avocets. Also high key'd. Can only see the little "meal" in a larger version - but he got himself a goodie.
Details: D500+Sigma 500/4, 1/2000, F5, HH, EC +1.7, Canvas Extension.

Very nice image, I would suggest you lift the darkest plumage and see if you could illustrate just a hint of a highlight in the eye, it (i.e. the eye) looks a bit flat/lifeless.

Another sweet frame of the Avocet, captured at just the perfect moment. Ditto the catchlight.

Really great shot, Jay. You've picked a great frame or have superb timing to get the water the way you have. The tones on the bird look pretty good to me and don't think that dark bit on the wing detracts. As for the 'missing' catchlight, I'm not one to go that far in interfering but that's my personal ethics showing here.
